West Ham United talks update shared as AC Milan eye Jhon Duran transfer
West Ham United are still in talks with Aston Villa for the transfer of Jhon Duran but could face fresh competition from AC Milan, according to Manuele Baiocchini.
The Sky Italy journalist reported on 14 July while speaking on Radio Rossonera that, despite the Hammers’ talks with Duran, AC Milan may now reignite their interest.
This means that, should Julen Lopetegui make a move for the Villa man, the Hammers could find themselves in a battle with the European heavyweights.
“The latest news is that Milan could also be back in the game with Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran,” Baiocchini said.
“The player is talking to West Ham and also seemed to be very close to the Hammers, but we had a rumour about Milan, who might change their minds.”

Ever since Duran started playing football, he has always been head and shoulders above his teammates.
In fact, Duran’s Under-15 coach, Wilberth Perea, claimed that even at that young age, he could tell that the attacker was an “impressive” player.
Although he’s failed to make much of an impact on Unai Emery’s first-team thanks to the stellar form of Ollie Watkins, when called upon, he’s managed to show glimpses of his talent.
This summer, West Ham were in need of reinforcements across the pitch, especially in that of attack.
So, it came as no surprise that Lopetegui’s first addition of the window was in the form of a winger with Luis Guilherme arriving.
Since then, the London-based club have been linked with players such as Matias Soule and Everton talisman Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
But of all the reported options available, it feels as if Duran makes the most sense for the Hammers to go for – especially when his form towards the end of the 2023/24 Premier League season is taken into account.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers are also readying themselves for the transfer of a Serie A centre-back.
