West Ham United submit new multi-million Vitao transfer bid, Internacional responds
West Ham United submitted a bid to sign Vitao from Internacional this summer which has since been rejected, according to UOL.
The Hammers tabled an initial £6.7million bid which the Brazilian side rejected alongside a £7.6m bid from Spanish side Real Betis.
The centre-back is still of interest to Tim Steidten who could return with another offer despite being turned down.
Internacional wants at least £10m for the 24-year-old with Nottingham Forest also said to be showing an interest in signing him this summer.
West Ham to make second Vitao bid
Steidten has been very public in his pursuit of new signings, especially from Brazil, as the Hammers look set to add various talents to their squad.
This began with the potential signing of Fabricio Bruno which eventually fell through before attentions were turned to Vitao.
It is clear that a centre-back is wanted by the German and Julen Lopetegui this summer as they look to sure up the defence ahead of the new season.
With Angelo Ogbonna departing the London Stadium, cover in the role is needed and Vitao could provide that if signed.
The Brazilian is available for a cheap fee considering the state of play in the transfer market in recent years.

With that being said, he has a lack of top European experience having just spent three seasons with Shakhtar Donetsk with the rest of his career in his homeland.
If he comes in and is used sparingly, to begin with before being blooded in the Premier League, he could prove to be a useful signing if Steidten can pull off a deal.
