West Ham United star Kurt Zouma set for medical in next 24-48 hours – Dharmesh Sheth

Kurt Zouma is expected to complete a medical with UAE club Shabab Al-Ahli in the next 24-48 hours as his departure from West Ham United gets close, according to Dharmesh Sheth.

Sky Sports journalist Sheth posted on his X account [8 August] to report the news, with the two clubs agreeing a deal that allows the defender to travel to the Middle East to complete the switch.

Zouma’s contract expires at the London Stadium next summer and an exit has been mooted throughout the transfer window, with a breakthrough now taking place as the UAE links picked up pace this week [Santi Aouna, 6 August].

West Ham lose defender as Zouma set for UAE

West Ham are already extremely active in the market and a centre-back now joins a right-back as a very pressing need on the recruitment list.

Zouma as well as Nayef Aguerd were expected to leave the London Stadium this summer, although the Aguerd intentions may be reassessed with a lack of options for Julen Lopetegui, even after the Hammers signed Max Kilman.

For a player who featured over 100 times in claret and blue and captained the side under David Moyes, it is a new chapter with both the player and the club heading for fresh beginnings.

Zouma is expected to receive a lucrative financial package to join the Dubai-based club and at 29, the last significant contract of his career is one that matters wholly to he and his family.

Expect Tim Steidten to ramp up the centre-half search even further now, with Logan Costa, Jean-Clair Todibo and a restored interest in Fabricio Bruno all on the Irons’ radar.
