West Ham United stance on Jaden Philogene transfer emerges as Everton enter race
West Ham United are mulling over a bid for Hull City star Jaden Philogene in the summer transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.
The outlet reported on its website on Friday (28 June) that the Hammers have been alerted to the winger’s form with the Tigers last season and are now considering whether or not to submit an offer for him.
Julen Lopetegui’s side are not alone in holding an interest in the England youth international as Everton are lining up a £16million bid while he has also attracted attention from the likes of Tottenham and Barcelona this summer.

While Everton seem ready to act upon their interest in Philogene, the Hammers seem prepared to take a bit longer before submitting a genuine offer to the Tigers. Whether that is the right approach to take, remains to be seen.
Lopetegui and Tim Steidten are eager to add to their attacking options between now and the start of the Premier League season having secured the signature of Luis Guilherme, but they won’t want to pay over the odds for a Championship player.
Philogene has shown in his time in the EFL that he is more than talented. He has scored some ridiculous goals and played a crucial role in Hull’s playoff push last term, but he has yet to prove he has what it takes to play in the Premier League.
If West Ham do decide to enter the race, they should have the financial power to beat Everton to the winger’s signature, but at this moment at least, it doesn’t seem as though they are convinced he’s right for them.
If one club submits an offer first this summer, it could well be enough to start a bit of a bidding war. It may only be early in the window, but this deal could move quite quickly in the coming weeks.
