West Ham United set sights on Wolves defender Max Kilman as £90,000-a-week detail emerges

West Ham United have set their sights on signing Wolves defender Max Kilman in the January window, according to the Daily Mail.

The UK newspaper outlet shared in its print edition (11 January, page 69) that both Kilman and Peterborough defender Ronnie Edwards are both highly-regarded at the London Stadium.

However, Wolves are under no pressure to sell Kilman this month after he signed a five-year contract back in August which made him one of their top earners at around £90,000-a-week.

Big-money

Kilman has emerged as one of the Premier League’s most underrated centre-backs over the past year and he has taken his game to a whole new level on Gary O’Neil since his appointment at the start of the season.

It’s no wonder why clubs around Europe, let alone West Ham United are very much interested in his services and his qualities certainly make him a player capable of playing at the highest level.

West Ham

The Hammers’ interest in the Englishman makes perfect sense given the increasing interest in London Stadium star Nayef Aguerd and there’s a small chance he could depart the club this year.

However, trying to attract Kilman’s services will be incredibly difficult, especially this month given his new deal only signed in August and the giant strides Wolves are currently undergoing under the former Irons midfielder O’Neil.

West Ham United can certainly signify their intentions again over the summer but it will take a big-money offer to prize him away from the Molineux and it may have to take a huge achievement at the London Stadium this season to persuade Kilman to choose the progress in East London rather than the progress in the Midlands.

Though, it is very possible.
