West Ham United set for contact with Burnley over Josh Brownhill, Maxwel Cornet and Dwight McNeil
West Ham are set for talks with Burnley over a £20m deal for midfielder Josh Brownhill, and also the availability of Maxwel Cornet and Dwight McNeil according to ExWHUemployee.
The Hammers are looking to add to their squad this summer after finishing 7th in the Premier League, and have already completed permanent deals for Nayef Aguerd and Alphonse Areola.
Now their attentions have turned to further up the pitch and according to an update on his Patreon account (June 29th), Brownhill is now seen as the most realistic option to bolster the midfield after losing Mark Noble and Alex Kral this summer.

Ex said he expects talks to be held between the two clubs over a deal for the 26-year-old, while the Hammers will also place enquiries about attackers McNeil and Cornet if their pursuits for other targets don’t go too well.
West Ham have already held talks with Cornet’s reps, according to 90min [May 27].
Burnley are desperate for cash after being relegated from the Premier League, and West Ham could look to take advantage by offering a big fee to bring the players to the London Stadium in a mulit-player deal.
Interesting
The Hammers absolutely need depth and additions in midfield, with just Tomas Soucek, Declan Rice and Manuel Lanzini seen as senior central midfielders in the squad currently.
Brownhill showed his qualities despite being in a poor team during the 2021/22 season, notching the most interceptions of any player in the league.

Cornet was also a shining light in an otherwise poor side, scoring nine goals but suffering with injury problems which ultimately restricted him to just 26 appearances in the league. His versatility will be something Moyes likes, as he has played everywhere from left-back to left-wing and as a striker in his career.
McNeil is a highly talented young player who has the ability to play in central midfield but was regularly used out wide because of his dribbling.
All these players are of a good age and of a reasonable transfer fee, so it would be shrewd business for the Hammers to address several areas of their squad in one swoop but only if the main targets are unattainable.
