West Ham United set date for new forward signing, player already identified
West Ham United want to add a striker to their ranks ahead of the club’s pre-season schedule, which kicks off on Saturday 27 July, according to GiveMeSport.
The online source reported on Sunday (16 June) that the Hammers are keen to have a new forward before their first pre-season fixture against Wolves.
The club have identified Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri as a possible target, with the La Liga team needing to raise funds amid a financial struggle, leaving the door open for his exit.
Could West Ham United sign Youssef En-Nesyri before pre-season starts?
It is clear that Julen Lopetegui wants to bring a new striker to London Stadium as he begins his rebuild following David Moyes’ exit.
The Hammers have already been linked with Roma’s Tammy Abraham, Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion and most recently, Juventus duo Matias Soule and Moise Kean [Edoardo Mecca].
While Michail Antonio looks set to continue his career at the London Stadium, the 34-year-old’s injury record will be a major concern heading into the 2024/25 concern.
Danny Ings has been a disappointment since arriving from Aston Villa, to say the least, and Divin Mubama is heading for the exit door, leaving Lopetegui with limited options in attack.
Of course, with the likes of Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus in the final third, West Ham are bound to be a danger in front of goal, but an out-and-out striker is definitely missing.
En-Nesyri has the potential to fill that gap, and the Hammers have seemingly set a deadline for when the transfer needs to be completed.

The Morocco international, with 58 caps for his country, has scored 73 goals in 196 appearances since joining Sevilla in 2020, becoming one of the club’s most-loved players.
While it will be a difficult goodbye for the striker this summer, the links with the Hammers present him with an incredible opportunity to showcase his skills in the Premier League.
