West Ham United send scouts to Scotland v Ukraine Nations League fixture
West Ham United had scouts at Hampden Park to watch Scotland’s 3-0 National League win over Ukraine according to 90min.
90min suggest (22 September) that the Hammers weren’t alone with Wolves, Leeds United, Newcastle, Brentford, Brighton and Everton all having representatives at the fixture.
It’s understood that Ukrainian sensation Mykhaylo Mudryk was the centre of attention for most of the clubs in attendance.

As much as it is good to see the Hammers potentially looking at a player of Mudryk’s standard, the amount of competition they could face for his signature is unheard of.
Nearly half of the Premier League was at Hampden Park to supposedly watch the 21-year-old who has had an excellent start to the 2022/23 season particularly on the European stage for Shakhtar Donetsk.
His early season form has clearly attracted the attention of plenty of suitors and there will undoubtedly be a bidding war for his services when the January transfer window does come around.
Everton had a bid rejected towards the end of the transfer window and now his value would’ve only gone up further after his electric form of late.
Considering the amount of money that West Ham spent during the summer, there would have to be a number of quite significant departures for their scouting trip of Mudryk to be deemed serious.
However, there have been suggestions (Claret and Hugh, 21 September) that the Hammers are ready to entertain offers for Declan Rice, which could provide the funds for a big money move for the in-demand Ukrainian youngster.
