West Ham United send proposal to Leeds United for Crysenscio Summerville as talks take place

West Ham have sent a proposal to Leeds United for the signing of Crysencio Summerville, Fabrizio Romano has said.

The prominent Italian journalist reported on X on Monday (22 July) to say the Hammers have also held talks with the player’s representatives but a transfer is not yet close as a deal is considered “very expensive”.

Serie A side Roma also have Dutch winger Summerville on their list, Romano said, but only if they are unable to sign Juventus’ Matias Soule.

West Ham now want Leeds United ace Crysencio Summerville

The Hammers have been keen to bolster their attacking ranks throughout the summer transfer window and have already added Brazilian teenager Luis Guilherme to their forward options.

Coincidentally, Soule is a player who has also been reportedly on their radar and Tuttosport reported on Monday (22 July) that the Hammers could bid for the Argentina youth international in the next 24 to 48 hours.

Summerville, last season’s Championship Player of the Year, has consistently been linked with the Elland Road exit door throughout the summer but as yet linked to Liverpool, Newcastle United and Brighton have all failed to come to fruition.

The Hammers will have to ponder whether they can afford the outlay for Summerville, especially given they have already shelled out £40million for Max Kilman and continue to seek another central defender this window on top of attempting to bolster their forward options.

This feels like one to monitor in the coming days.
