West Ham United realise Lewis Orford mistake with talks due on Friday – ExWHUemployee

West Ham United are preparing to discuss a new contract with Lewis Orford after realising their earlier mistake, according to ExWHUEmployee.

Speaking to The West Ham Way on Friday (July 26), ExWHUEmployee claimed that the club had tried to include Orford in a deal for Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran but now regrets this decision.

Villa rejected West Ham’s £32million offer [Daily Mail, July 25], which included Orford and a sell-on clause, and the Hammers are now keen to secure Orford’s future at the London Stadium.

Talks about a new contract are expected to take place as early as this Friday, the insider said.

They added: “It does appear that the club realised the nature of the mistake they could be making and seem to be hoping to try and convince Orford to stay with loose contract conversations set to happen today.”

West Ham would be wise to keep Lewis Orford

West Ham should think twice before letting Lewis Orford go. At just 18, Orford is already attracting attention from some top clubs.

He’s been a key player for the club’s youth teams and has shown promise in his first-team appearances. On top of that, with his boyhood passion for the Hammers and a style reminiscent of Declan Rice, he represents a bright future for the club.

Selling Orford as part of a deal for Jhon Duran might seem tempting, especially with Villa’s £32million asking price, but the long-term benefits of keeping him could outweigh the immediate gain.

Orford is not just another young talent; he’s a local boy who understands the club’s culture and has the potential to be a future star. West Ham’s academy has a storied history of producing top players, and Orford could continue that legacy.

In the end, holding on to Orford might be one of the wisest moves West Ham can make for their future.
