West Ham United ready to cash in on Kurt Zouma as summer transfer decision made
West Ham United have placed Kurt Zouma on the transfer list ahead of the summer transfer window, according to TEAMtalk.
The outlet reported on its website on Tuesday (11 June) that the Hammers are looking to cash in on the French defender this summer as he enters the final year of his lucrative contract at the London Stadium.
Zouma is open to departing East London this summer, with sources close to the player suggesting he has already expressed doubts over his future before the Irons made the decision to place him on the transfer list.
Will West Ham United sell Kurt Zouma during the summer transfer window under Julen Lopetegui?
He may not have been at the London Stadium for more than a few weeks, but Julen Lopetegui is ready to make several changes to this West Ham squad to shape them in his image before pre-season gets underway.
When he is fit and firing, Zouma is an excellent footballer, but his fitness record has been appalling despite being a regular under David Moyes and he has never been capable of playing multiple games in one week at the London Stadium.
The Hammers cannot rely on a player with those sorts of issues, especially as they look to kick on under a new manager. They need defenders who are capable of playing week in and week out without letting their standards slip.

However, it is slightly worrying to see the Frenchman linked with a move away whilst Nayef Aguerd’s future remains up in the air and only days after Angelo Ogbonna departed the club. West Ham are at risk of losing a lot of experience this summer.
If the right replacement are signed to combat this, that won’t be an issue. But Lopetegui and Tim Steidten need to make sure that they get their incoming recruitment spot on this summer.
