West Ham United ready bid for Aaron Wan-Bissaka with new transfer close

West Ham United are preparing a £15million bid for Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to iNews.

The news outlet has reported on its website (18 July), that the Hammers are targeting the right-back to bolster their defence after Ben Johnson left the club for a £60,000-a-week deal at Ipswich [Times, 26 June].

United are said to be open to a sale [StrettyNews, 17 July], and West Ham are keen to get a move sorted for the former Crystal Palace man quickly.

West Ham to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka?

The transfer business at the London Stadium so far this summer has been good with Luis Guilherme bolstering the attack, Max Kilman strengthening the defence and Wes Foderingham offering more depth to the goalkeeper department.

But talks for Kyle Walker-Peters seem to have stalled a little after a swap deal [talkSPORT, 10 July] was put on ice when Flynn Downes joined Southampton in a permanent deal, and with Wan-Bissaka open to a move [StrettyNews, 12 July] it seems like the deal to do.

With Vladimir Coufal’s future up in the air at right-back [Athletic, 27 April] that leaves a gap for Wan-Bissaka to come into the squad and immediately stake his claim for the starting position.

Manchester United are open, Wan-Bissaka is open and West Ham wants a deal, so it should be fairly straightforward to get over the line.

With pre-season already underway, the quicker a deal can be done the better it will be for Lopetegui, and this bid should move things along.
