West Ham United player-plus-cash deal on the cards to sign Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City - ExWHUemployee
David Moyes “really rates” Kalvin Phillips with ExWHUemployee mooting the possibility of the Manchester City midfielder joining West Ham in the summer.
Writing via his Patreon page on Wednesday (24 May), the reliable Hammers insider reported that Man City are in the mix to sign Declan Rice with Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Newcastle also keen.
It is understood that “there is a possibility of exchange deals being on offer” for 24-year-old Rice and Man City’s Phillips, 26, is mentioned as someone who could be used as a makeweight in a deal for the Hammers captain.
Ex adds that Pep Guardiola “has already mentioned he could be prepared to entertain offers” for ex-Leeds star Phillips, who’s struggled at the Etihad in his debut season there.
Yes, please
Phillips hasn’t had the best of times at Man City.

He joined the Premier League champions for Leeds last summer but has only made one start for them and that was in the 1-0 win over Chelsea at the weekend when the title was already won.
It’s been hard for Phillips not because he’s a bad player but because Rodri has been one of the best players in Europe this season.
Phillips was incredible at Leeds, there’s no denying that.
He and Rice were brilliant alongside one another at the European Championships in 2021 too as England reached the final.
As quoted by LeedsLive, Phillips’ England teammate Kieran Trippier dubbed the Man City man “phenomenal” for the intensity he brought to the Leeds side in his time at Elland Road.
That’s what West Ham would need if Rice was to go.
People shouldn’t look down their noses at Phillips if we do have a go at signing him. We think he could be an incredible addition to this side if Rice moves on.
