West Ham United paperwork update on Crysencio Summerville transfer
Crysencio Summerville has completed the first part of his West Ham United medical ahead of his move to the Hammers, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
The journalist reported this via X (1 August) and stated that only paperwork needs to be finalised before an official announcement can be made.
The Hammers are hopeful that he can become part of the squad before their pre-season tour of the USA ends.
Crysencio Summerville is an ideal transfer for West Ham United
West Ham were overly reliant on both Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen to carry them to victory last season.
Julen Lopetegui has already tried to combat this by signing Luis Guilherme before the transfer window even opened.
The Hammers’ number nines were far from their best which resulted in the vast majority of the club’s attacks going down either flank.
Summerville is still just 22 years old and is a stellar talent. He won the Championship Player of the Season award last term and has been linked with a plethora of Premier League teams.
But, it’s Lopetegui’s side that has seemingly emerged victorious after agreeing a deal worth around £34million after add-ons are included.
Although his favoured position is left-wing, he can be deployed anywhere across the front three if and when needed to do so.
He will no doubt help boost the Hammers’ chances of getting European football this season and finishing higher than the ninth place they managed last term.
All in all, despite the fact that Leeds United are losing their star man, this looks to be a deal that could work out for both Summerville and West Ham this season.
