West Ham United on red alert to seal Jhon Duran transfer after new development
Jhon Duran has become frustrated by his lack of playing time at Aston Villa, with West Ham among the clubs alerted ahead of the January transfer deadline, according to the Telegraph.
The newspaper reported via their website on 29 January that Villa’s bid to sign Morgan Rogers has placed further doubt on Duran’s future and possible first-team opportunities.
AC Milan and Chelsea were also named as interested clubs, with the latter having made initial inquiries into a deal already, with Unai Emery potentially opting to move players out before 1 February.
Approaching the key stages
With just days remaining of the January transfer window, any deals West Ham want to get over the line before the deadline will have to be quick, and after being alerted of Duran’s frustration, this could be one they push for.
A new striker has been one of the priority targets at the London Stadium this month, but with nothing materialising as of yet, the Hammers may be pushed into a late panic-buy in their desperation to strengthen their attacking line.
To call the deal a panic buy may sound harsh, but with such little time left in the window, if they are unable to get deals done elsewhere they could rush into a deal to sign Duran due to his availability and apparent desire to make the move.

With Chelsea and AC Milan also interested, the Hammers may be a lower-ranking club in terms of their stature, but they are able to offer European football and a guaranteed starting place which may not be on offer at either of their competitors this season.
