West Ham United offer over £73,000-a-week to sign Emerson Palmieri as agent gets in way of deal
West Ham are being priced out of a deal to sign Emerson Palmieri from Chelsea by the Italian left-back’s agent, according to ExWHUemployee.
Writing via his Patreon account on Wednesday (17 August), the Hammers insider reported that the East London club has started to turn attention to other left-back targets due to the major hurdle in talks with Emerson.
It is understood that West Ham have even offered Emerson higher wages than he’s currently on at Chelsea but the Italy international’s agent is getting in the way by demanding even bigger wages and a large agency fee.

CalcioMercato reported in June 2021 that Emerson earns £73,000-a-week on his deal at Stamford Bridge so based on Ex’s update, a higher figure than that has been offered to the player but it’s still not enough to satisfy his agent.
For crying out loud
How unlucky can we be?
Do West Ham purposely pick out players with hard-to-deal-with agents or are we just finding this is the case with every single one of our main targets lately?
Emerson is clearly a left-back that David Moyes likes and wants to sign given the money that has been offered to him.
It’s laughable that he’s being sold by Chelsea but still wants a pay rise away from Stamford Bridge, where money has never really been in short supply in the last 20 years.

In four years as a Chelsea player, Emerson has played 71 times for the club and it’s hard to say that many of those performances have been memorable.
Last season he was on loan at Lyon, who lost to West Ham in the Europa League quarter-finals, playing 36 times in all competitions for the Ligue 1 club.
Moyes must be impressed by how he did in France but if he’s going to allow his agent to price himself out of a good move to the London Stadium then that’s down to him.
