West Ham United news as insiders issue claim on midfielder

Dom Smith claims that many at West Ham believe George Earthy is destined for big things.

The Evening Standard reporter stated on 25 December that the 20-year-old is one of the more “exciting” players to have come through the ranks at the Hammers academy in recent years.

Earthy will be back at the London Stadium in the summer as he’s currently out on at League One outfit Bristol City.

Smith wrote: “20-year-old George Earthy is one of the more exciting players to have come through West Ham’s academy for some years.

“Many at West Ham believe big things are in store for Earthy. The coming year could be an indication as to whether they are right.”

West Ham youngster George Earthy will want more minutes at Bristol

Earth has made 15 league appearances this season, but only three of those have been starts.

As he returns to the London Stadium in the summer, the Englishman will be keen to prove his worth by securing more regular playing time.

Having already made a name for himself with his debut senior goal for the club, Earthy will be eager to demonstrate his potential and capability at a higher level.

With many at West Ham believing big things are in store for him, the 2025 season will be crucial in showcasing his development and determining whether he can solidify his place in the Hammers’ first-team picture.

While he would not prioritise getting regular starts, being a part of the matchday squad is something he could target.

However, for that, he needs to be starting regularly and proving his worth at Bristol City.

In other West Ham news, sources claim the Hammers can now secure the services of a £40m player in January.
