West Ham United may be last Premier League chance for Piotr Zielinski – Sky Sports

West Ham United remain in talks with Napoli for midfielder Piotr Zielinski with the Polish international undecided on his future according to Dharmesh Sheth.

The Sky Sports journalist revealed (via Twitter) on Thursday 28 July that Napoli still want over £33.5million for the 28-year-old midfielder.

It has also been suggested that the Polish international sees the move as his last chance to play in the Premier League.

In the balance

This transfer could seemingly go either way as talks continue between the two clubs regarding his future.

The 28-year-old could well be convinced to move to the London Stadium after the business that the Hammers have completed so far this summer.

Champions League football is obviously a draw for him to stay at Napoli, but ultimately the chance to test himself in the best league in the world may be too hard to turn down.

From a West Ham perspective, paying in the region of £30million for the 28-year-old is quite a big fee.

Considering his age and contract situation, the Hammers shouldn’t pay over the odds for a player who is not at the top of their transfer priorities.

Moyes has to be considering a move for a left-back and another central defender to cover Nayef Aguerd after his unfortunate preseason injury.

Filip Kostic is a player that the Hammers are after and he’s certainly a player they should be actively pursuing over Zielinski at present.

If Napoli lower their asking price then a move for the attacking midfielder would definitely look more appealing.
