West Ham United-linked Serhou Guirassy open to Premier League move amid Stuttgart exit update
West Ham United were interested in signing Serhou Guirassy but Borussia Dortmund have won the race for his signature, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The transfer specialist reported via his Daily Briefing (27 June) that the German giants are now just finalising the formal steps to secure the Stuttgart striker having always been the favourites for the deal.
Guirassy was open to a move to the Premier League or Serie A this summer, but Dortmund always seemed most likely to secure his services having begun planning for his arrival all the way back in March.
Dortmund’s strong interest is understood to have been appreciated by the striker and played a part in his decision to remain within the Bundesliga.
Will West Ham United or Borussia Dortmund sign Serhou Guirassy in summer transfer window?
Julen Lopetegui has wasted no time getting his hands on this West Ham squad and beginning to mould it in his image. With Luis Guilherme and Wes Foderingham through the door, he will be keen to make a few more big additions.
A new centre-forward will be high on the agenda, especially with speculation continuing to circle around Michail Antonio’s long-term future. Although Guiarrasy is off the cards, the Hammers cannot waste time regretting their missed opportunity.
The Stuttgart star would have been the perfect fit for the Hammers and his record in Germany last season was incredible, but they were always going to be playing second fiddle to Dortmund given their power in Germany.

There are other strikers out there available this summer, including Tammy Abraham and Lopetegui and Tim Steidten now have to move quickly to ensure that one is through the door in East London sooner rather than later.
Hopefully, they don’t miss out on another target again otherwise pressure may begin to mount from supporters.
