West Ham United learn price ahead of new Scott McTominay transfer developments
West Ham United are ready to open talks this week with Manchester United to sign Scott McTominay this summer, CaughtOffside reports.
The online outlet has reported that Manchester United will demand up to £29million for the Scotland international to leave Old Trafford.
This comes on the heels of news that the Red Devils have rejected early bids for the 27-year-old [Manchester Evening News, 15 July].
Can West Ham land Scott McTominay?
The good news for West Ham supporters is that Julen Lopetegui is hungry to bring in more new faces.
Following his appointment, the former Wolvs boss has made it clear that he doesn’t want to face the same financial restrictions he was met with at Molineux.

As for McTominay, this is all about staying in the dance. He scored seven goals in 32 Premier League appearances last season [Premier League], before going on to feature heavily for Scotland at UEFA Euro 2024.
It certainly seems as if there’s still a role for him at Old Trafford. However, if he’s on the hunt for consistent first-team football, he could do a lot worse than a move to the capital.
The club needs experience and they need depth in the middle of the park. Plus, when you consider some of the fees that have been thrown around already during the summer transfer window, this would be a pretty solid deal.
In other West Ham news, a decision could be imminent regarding the future of Nayef Aguerd.
