West Ham United: Jarrod Bowen release clause omitted from new contract after David Sullivan talks last week

Jarrod Bowen doesn’t have a release clause after signing a new long-term deal at West Ham, according to Sean Whetstone.

The 6foot2 editor tweeted on Sunday (8 October) that the England international signed a six-and-a-half-year deal after holding talks with David Sullivan on Tuesday (3 October) to agree the final details.

He added that the 26-year-old winger has become the highest-paid player in terms of basic wage, but that his salary is “not as high” as some reports have suggested.

Great business

It’s great business from the West Ham hierarchy to secure Bowen on a long-term contract that doesn’t include a release clause.

It basically means that he is our player for as long as we want him and should put to bed any talk of him moving on, with Liverpool believed to be admirers of the winger.

The Englishman deserves to be the Hammers’ highest earner after what he has done for the club since signing from Hull City in January 2020.

He has scored some massive goals during that time and, at just 26, he still has plenty more years to go of playing at the highest level.

His latest call-up to the national team just shows the form he is in right now and the fans will be delighted to see that his future will be at the London Stadium.
