West Ham United in talks to sell Moyes signing as wages update shared

West Ham United are in desperate need for a positive transfer window this summer.

Graham Potter‘s side are in need of a major overhaul after a disappointing 14th-place finish in the Premier League last time out.

If they can make significant sales, it would help the former Brighton manager to transform his squad at the London Stadium and get it up to scratch.

Cornet could be set for West Ham exit

Maxwel Cornet may be finally set to end his West Ham nightmare after being signed back in the David Moyes era.

The former Burnley man moved to East London for a fee of £17.5million back in August 2022 but has failed to make an impact with the Hammers.

The Irons could sanction a sale this summer, with loan club Genoa interested in making his move permanent.

A report from Italian outlet Repubblica (10 June) claims that the E20 outfit are in talks with the Rossoblu over a transfer.

It states that the 28-year-old is willing to make the move but his wage demands may prove to be an issue.

West Ham need to find Cornet solution

The Ivory Coast international was originally loaned to Southampton earlier this season but was recalled in January after featuring just twice in the Premier League.

He then joined the Italian side on loan but was struck by injuries and featured just seven times in Serie A, notching two goals and one assist.

There is no surely no way back for him at West Ham, so they need to find a solution that suits all parties and allows them to bring in attacking talent.

The likes of Niclas Fullkrug and Crysencio Summerville have failed to impress and Potter needs to be backed significantly in the window to revamp his attack.

If David Sullivan and Co. can sort a compromise with Genoa over a move for Cornet, it would benefit all parties as any fee they received could be reinvested into potential additions.

They should move quickly to get the ex-Turf Moor star off the books, as he is quite simply not going to work his way back into the fold.
