West Ham United are in behind-the-scenes talks to sign Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper reported online (16 July) that Julen Lopetegui’s side are keen to bolster their forward options.
Calvert-Lewin is one of several forwards who has been discussed behind the scenes by the club.
Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion and Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran are also under consideration at the London Stadium.
West Ham United considering a move for Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin
It is no secret that the Hammers need to upgrade their options going forward.
When it comes to strikers at the London Stadium, the club haven’t had the best of luck in recent years.
Michail Antonio and Danny Ings both aren’t getting any younger and it would therefore be wise for West Ham to line up a new long-term number nine.
Whether or not they make a move for Calvert-Lewin remains to be seen. However, he would certainly be a sensible option.
The Everton striker has plenty of Premier League experience and despite some goalscoring troubles in recent years, there is no doubt quality there.
A move away from Goodison Park to new surroundings could help him rediscover his best form.
And at the age of 27, there is still plenty left in the tank for Calvert-Lewin.

While it might not be the most exciting signing they could make, Calvert-Lewin could end up being exactly what the Hammers need.
In other West Ham news, the club have made an approach to sign an attacker from Napoli.
