West Ham United in advanced talks to sign Fabricio Bruno, Tim Steidten works on deal – Fabrizio Romano

West Ham United are in advanced talks to sign Fabricio Bruno from Flamengo with Tim Steidten working on a deal, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer specialist reported (22 May) that the Hammers have named the Brazilian on their shortlist ahead of the summer transfer window.

Steidten is now in advanced talks, which are said to be progressing, with Flamengo after Bruno accepted the proposal himself.

Should West Ham sign Fabricio Bruno?

The Brazilian won’t become a West Ham player until he has finished competing for Flamengo in the Copa do Brasil and the Copa Libertadores.

This will see him join up with the Hammers after 29 May after becoming the club’s first signing since the departure of David Moyes.

Bruno featured for Brazil against England in March which is potentially where he caught the eye of the East Londoners’ scouts.

With Nayef Aguerd potentially leaving the club, this could prove to be a smart piece of business for the 28-year-old over the summer.

The Brazilian Serie A season is only six games deep so his stats must be taken with a pinch of salt right now.

Bruno has kept up a 90.9 per cent pass accuracy while winning 81.8 per cent of duels [FotMob] showcasing his ability on the ball while being defensively solid.

He is set to be the first signing of a new era at the London Stadium as Steidten takes charge of transfers.

In other West Ham news, the club have tabled a £22m offer for this “superstar”.
