West Ham United hold talks to sign Real Betis star Juan Miranda on free transfer

West Ham have held talks with Real Betis defender Juan Miranda about a free transfer to the London Stadium, according to TBR Football.

Writing on their website (27 June), the news outlet report that the Spain international is highly in-demand with his contract set to expire in a matter of days.

And the 24-year-old has held talks with the Hammers about a move to the Premier League to provide competition for Emerson Palmieri and Aaron Cresswell at left-back for Julen Lopetegui.

West Ham United could make impressive transfer deal

Left-back is a position that most people wouldn’t argue is a priority to strengthen, but with Ben Johnson on his way to Ipswich after agreeing a £60k per-week deal [Times, 26 June] and with Aaron Cresswell now 34-years-old they need more depth.

Emerson has been the first-choice but Miranda is someone who will undoubtedly know what Lopetegui wants to do with his team, having played for Spain and come through the La Masia academy for Barcelona.

With the Spanish coach looking to put his stamp on his new team, the “outstanding” Miranda would be a real coup and a statement of intent to prove he means business.
