However neither moved forward to table a bid whereas Leeds United did twice, yet Rowe has now informed his club and his agents that he only as eyes for a move to Marseille and looks set for Ligue 1.
Tim Steidten has already brought in Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras and Crysencio Summerville from Leeds United in wide areas this summer.
West Ham talks over Jonathan Rowe from Norwich emerge
Steidten has shown plenty of ambition for the Irons as he looks to arm Julen Lopetegui with a squad to get the new era off to a fast start.
Rowe’s 12 goals in the Championship last term have made him a popular option and at £15million he would have been fairly affordable by the Hammers’ standards this summer.
Leeds want him to fill the gap left by Summerville’s departure to the London Stadium, but since the Dutchman came in there is likely no space for Rowe as well.

With Lopetegui still pushing to add Carlos Soler amid talks with PSG [Foot Mercato, 19 August] the incoming business might not be finished yet.
But with star man and new captain Jarrod Bowen already in place on one flank and Mohammed Kudus capable of playing wide as well there are options, even if Maxwel Cornet ends up moving on [The Athletic, 4 June].
In other West Ham news, the Irons are ready to sell three players to make space to sign another before the deadline.
