West Ham United hold further talks with Wolves for Max Kilman with third bid expected
West Ham United have held further talks with Wolves for defender Max Kilman after having two bids rejected, according to the Northern Echo.
Writing on their website (25 June), the news outlet report that the Hammers held more talks over the weekend with Julen Lopetegui keen to be reunited with the man he made captain at Molineux.
The expectation is now that a third formal bid will be made “shortly”, with Wolves in a position where they need to raise funds before June 30th to avoid a potential PSR breach [Shropshire Star, 21 June].
West Ham United want no transfer saga with Wolves
It’s very clear that West Ham are interested in bringing Kilman to the London Stadium, and it’s clear that Tim Steidten is working hard to get it done.
Lopetegui worked with Kilman during their time together at Wolves and is a huge fan of the defender, and with the defensive situation at West Ham up in the air new options are very needed.
But what’s also very clear is that fact that Wolves need cash and the Irons don’t want a saga in this transfer window, and that’s why they’re working so hard to get this deal over the line quickly.

With the financial year coming to an end at the end of the current week, it gives Wolves a limited window to bring in funds and the Hammers are doing all they can to agree terms and help them out.
But that doesn’t mean they will overpay and they know time is on their side. A third bid after further talks will surely take the deal closer to completion and Lopetegui is edging closer to getting his man through the doors.
