West Ham United goalkeeper Nathan Trott in transfer talks as he tops shortlist

West Ham keeper Nathan Trott finds himself atop the shortlist of goalkeepers for FC Copenhagen this summer, according to Tipsbladet.

The Danish news outlet claimed on 10 June that the deal could cost Copenhagen up to £1.7million to get over the line.

It’s also understood that talks are underway between the two clubs over the 25-year-old’s permanent sale.

West Ham must try and drive up the transfer price for Nathan Trott

The Hammer should aim to sell Trott for close to £2million at least, slightly more than what is being quoted.

Despite his potential, he has not been able to break into the first team consistently, making his prospects of becoming the first-choice goalkeeper at the London Stadium seem unlikely.

With Alphonse Areola and Lukasz Fabianski already in the squad, the addition of Wes Foderingham as a free transfer further diminishes Trott’s chances of regular playing time.

Selling Trott for a reasonable fee not only allows the club to recoup some of their investment but also provides Trott with the opportunity to seek regular first-team football elsewhere, which is crucial for his career development.

Moreover, this sale would help the Irons balance their books and potentially reinvest the funds into strengthening other areas of the squad that need more immediate attention.

It remains to be seen how this deal transpires and whether or not there are other clubs entering the fray.
