West Ham United: Fabrizio Romano drops double update on Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals deals after Deadline Day madness

Fabrizio Romano has dropped a double West Ham United transfer update on wingers Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals.

The journalist noted via X on Friday (2 February) that Benrahma is furious after his proposed move to French club Lyon collapsed.

Spanish club Real Betis meanwhile are now waiting for the final green light to bring Fornals on board, Romano added.

Double exit?

West Ham did strengthen their squad in the recent transfer window, with Kalvin Phillips arriving on loan from Manchester City.

The England international didn’t exactly have a great time on his Hammers debut, giving away a goal before being substituted in the 1-1 draw with Bournemouth on Thursday (1 February).

But he should still help their cause in the long run, with the East London club aiming to continue their strong Premier League season, as well as going as far as possible in the Europa League.

But those aims will also require a strong attack, and there is no doubt whatsoever that the Hammers would be weakened massively if they were to lose both Fornals and Benrahma.

The two wingers are squad players for David Moyes, coming in when necessary, but they both still provide a real threat going forward.

Injuries and suspensions are certain to impact West Ham in the near future, as they have already done this season, and Moyes should therefore do his utmost to keep the attacking pair at the London Stadium.

In other West Ham news, a Hammers exit deal broke down after an offer was made, with a manager rejection detailed.
