West Ham United eye triple transfer swoop with Danny Ings, Said Benrahma and Aaron Cresswell set for January exit

West Ham are trying to sell Said Benrahma, Aaron Cresswell and Danny Ings in January as they eye a triple transfer swoop according to The Times.

Writing on their website (3 January), the news outlet report that the Hammers want to sign a left-back, left winger and striker this month.

And that’s because they are actively working to offload several fringe players from their squad to make room for the new players which could see a busy month at the London Stadium.

“West Ham are in the market for a left back, left winger and forward, while trying to offload various fringe players including Saïd Benrahma, Aaron Cresswell and Danny Ings,” they wrote.

No shock

Aaron Cresswell was close to leaving the club during the summer transfer window when Wolves made a move, but ultimately a deal fell through and the veteran full-back stayed put.

But he has barely featured in the first-half of the season with Emerson Palmieri ahead of him in the pecking order at left-back, while David Moyes has opted for a back-four far more often than a three central defender system.

As for Ings it will come as a surprise to absolutely nobody that he may be on his way out because he has fallen behind Michail Antonio, Jarrod Bowen and even youngster Divin Mubama in the pecking order for the number nine role.

Benrahma is someone that fans would be more disappointed to see leave the club because he has great quality and provides excellent strength in depth to the squad, but he is the one most likely to push for an exit because he will want more regular game time.

If it’s to happen then he will need to be replaced, and West Ham must act quickly to get that done.
