West Ham United eye striker transfer as Jorgen Strand Larsen update emerges

West Ham have made an enquiry for Celta Vigo attacker Jorgen Strand Larsen, who’s also liked by Aston Villa and Wolves, according to Matteo Moretto.

The journalist reported on 27 June that a move to the Premier League is on the cards for the Norway international due to the financial muscle of the clubs.

The 24-year-old striker, who can also play out wide, is courted by Italian clubs as well.

Via Twitter, Moretto wrote: “In the last few hours, the Premier League is moving for Celta de Vigo’s Norwegian striker Jorgen Strand Larsen.

“The clubs that have taken concrete steps are Wolverhampton and Aston Villa.

“Small survey by West Ham.

“Much further away, until now, several Italian teams. The economic strength of the Premier League is superior.

“They are going to be very important days.”

West Ham must make a bid for Jorgen Strand Larsen

Strand Larsen could be a valuable signing for the Hammers due to his versatility and goal-scoring ability and he will be an upgrade on Michail Antonio.

At 24, he is entering his prime and has already shown promise in La Liga with Celta Vigo, scoring 13 goals and providing 3 assists last season.

His ability to play as a central striker or on the wing adds flexibility to West Ham’s attack, allowing him to fit into different tactical setups.

The Norway international’s height (6’4″) and physical presence make him a threat in aerial duels and hold-up play, which could benefit the Irons’ wingers and midfielders by providing a reliable target man.

Additionally, his pace and technical skills allow him to create chances for himself and his teammates.

The Norwegian international’s potential is high and he has room to improve under the guidance of Julen Lopetegui.

It remains to be seen if the enquiry is then followed up with an official bid.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers want to secure the transfer of a player who’s set to leave Tottenham Hotspur this month.
