West Ham United eye loan deal for Manchester City ace Cole Palmer, could be separate to Lucas Paqueta deal
West Ham United are exploring the potential of a loan deal for Manchester City attacker Cole Palmer, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.
Writing on his personal Twitter account (10 August), the journalist reports that there is a strong interest in the attacker from the London Stadium.
Man City are said to want to sign Lucas Paqueta and while it has been reported that Palmer could be used as a makeweight in the deal, Sheth reports that it’s possible this could be a separate deal from that of the Brazilian.
“West Ham United have a strong interest in Manchester City forward Cole Palmer,” he wrote.
“It’s understood West Ham are exploring a loan deal. It’s not been confirmed if a potential deal is part of any discussions over City’s pursuit of Lucas Paqueta.”
Big
Now Palmer looks like he is ready to break into the Man City first-team squad, as his goal in pre-season against Arsenal showed, this could be a huge deal.
West Ham have been in the market for a forward all summer but missed out on Carlos Borges and Harvey Barnes after they dithered for a bit too long.

Palmer could now hold the key to another huge move in the window, with Paqueta potentially going the other way. But if the Hammers are smart they will keep these deals separate and get as much cash for Paqueta as possible.
They already lost Declan Rice and losing Paqueta will obviously be a huge blow, but with a big chunk of cash he is replaceable and if they can get Palmer on loan too with an option to buy then it could be shrewd for the future of the club.
It’s going to be a very busy few weeks now in east London, and Moyes and Tim Steidten will have to earn their cash in this department. Just don’t get it wrong, or it could be the end of the season before it’s even started.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have agreed another brand new transfer.
