West Ham United eye Leicester City ace Wilfried Ndidi on free transfer this summer

West Ham United want to sign Leicester City star Wilfred Ndidi on a free transfer at the end of the season, according to Tutto Juve.

Writing on their website (18 April), the Italian news outlet report that the Nigeria international is a target for several clubs this summer with his contract at the King Power Stadium due to expire.

West Ham are named as one of the clubs alongside Everton, Crystal Palace, Juventus, Fenerbahce, Getafe and Sevilla who want to sign the 27-year-old this summer after his impressive performances in the Championship.

Wilfred Ndidi would be a perfect West Ham United signing

Considering FFP and PSR have been at the forefront of football over the last 12 months, clubs have to be extra cautious when it comes to the transfer window this summer.

The expectation is that Lucas Paqueta will be moved on with Manchester City extremely keen on a transfer for the Brazilian playmaker, while Kalvin Phillips is highly unlikely to stick around at the London Stadium after his loan spell from Manchester City comes to an end.

That means that new midfield options will definitely be needed ahead of the new campaign, and with David Moyes potentially on the move the new manager could also look to put their own print on the squad.

Ndidi is clearly too good for the Championship and with such experience in the Premier League, having made 192 appearances during his career, he would be a fantastic addition to a squad looking to push up the table.

With no transfer fee and relatively modest wages it would be a coup for the club and to beat so much competition to his signature would show it’s a great deal also.
