West Ham United eye January deal for Javi Guerra with Valencia ready to sell on cheap
West Ham United are “keeping tabs” on Valencia ace Javi Guerra ahead of the January transfer window, according to TBR Football.
The Hammers have had a prior interest in the midfielder back in 2023 (90min) but he’s now likely available for a cheaper fee worth around £25million (Caught Offside), with Valencia needing to raise funds.
Alongside West Ham, Barcelona also hold an interest in the youngster, as do Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal.
West Ham are one of the sides said to have checked on Guerra during the 2024-25 campaign.
Javi Guerra could help solve West Ham United attacking issues
One area that Julen Lopetegui’s men have struggled in this term is in the final third. Indeed, Niclas Fullkrug was brought in to bolster their attacking ranks but his injury has meant that he’s hardly played for the Hammers at all this season.
While Guerra is more of an attacking midfielder and would likely play a similar role to that of Lucas Paqueta or Carlos Soler, with his five goal contributions last season and the versatility he has on the pitch, he could become a rather valuable member of the Hammers’ team.

Indeed, Soler’s loan deal does have an option to buy, but with Guerra’s price tag lower than the PSG man’s and the fact that he’s still only 21 years old, it feels like the Valencia ace would be the better of the two options.
Unless Lopetegui can get his team to perform and isn’t allowed to add some more firepower to his ranks soon, it’s hard to see how the Spaniard will keep his job – and it’s even harder to see how the Hammers will finish in the European spots.
