West Ham United exchange final documents for Kostantinos Mavropanos transfer

West Ham and Stuttgart have exchanged all of the final documents for the £21.3million deal to bring Konstantinos Mavropanos to the London Stadium, with an announcement expected soon, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Romano shared the news via his Twitter account on 22 August, also stating that it is now time for the final contract to be signed by Mavropanos before the announcement and agreement are completed.

The deal consists of a £17million fee up front, with £4.3million to be paid in add-ons. Despite worries over a possible failed medical, the deal now looks set to go ahead in the coming hours.

Finally getting their man

After a long process, West Ham now finally look like they will get this deal over the line. Interest was first reported following a failed £30million deal for Manchester United’s Harry Maguire broke down over personal terms, but their second choice was made clear.

There were worries over a possible back injury for Mavropanos, but the club wanted to get the deal over the line as the issue is not thought to be serious.

Mavropanos will join West Ham as the club have been looking to strengthen at the back all summer. The move could see David Moyes switch to a back three, with the Greek defender slotting in alongside current duo Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd who started the first two games of the season.

In other West Ham news, the club have emerged as favourites to sign a big-name striker.
