West Ham United enquire about Bundesliga attacker Sheraldo Becker for deadline day deal
West Ham United want to sign Union Berlin winger Sheraldo Becker before Tuesday’s transfer deadline, according to Florian Plettenberg.
The Hammers are keen to add to their attacking ranks with Gianluca Scamacca and Danny Ings injured, while Michail Antonio could leave before the deadline amid lots of interest.
And now Sky Sports reporter Plettenberg says the club have enquired about Becker for a potential deadline day transfer, with Everton also linked with a move for the 27-year-old Surinamese international.
“News Becker: A player to watch out on Deadline Day! There’s movement in it. Everton is considering an official offer because Gallagher is close to be off as reported,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account (31 January).
“West Ham also inquired about the fast winger from Union Berlin. Union will announce Isco today!”
Interesting
Becker isn’t the type of player that West Ham and David Moyes would usually sign in a transfer window, but the same could be said of Danny Ings too.
With Ings and Scamacca injured and not having the best injury records in their past, if Antonio is to leave then the club need to ensure that they’re still well placed in attack.

Jarrod Bowen is also capable of playing through the middle as a forward, but that would see a lack of pace on the wings and Becker could solve that problem.
He wold also serve as a potential replacement or addition ahead of Maxwel Cornet, whose signing at the club hasn’t worked out as he continues to have fitness issues too.
It will certainly be interesting to see if this deal comes to fruition on deadline day, and we won’t have to wait too long if he’s to end up at the London Stadium.
