West Ham United do homework on Pedro Goncalves as Tim Steidten transfer development emerges
West Ham United have done their homework ahead of a potential summer move for Sporting Lisbon winger Pedro Goncalves, according to Graeme Bailey.
The journalist reported via HITC on Monday (11 March) that Hammers’ chief Tim Steidten is already working hard on potential summer signings with the Portuguese forward one player of interest.
Scouts have gone to watch the 25-year-old international in action this season where he has primarily been deployed on the left side of Sporting’s attack, however, he has also received some transfer interest from Liverpool.
Will David Moyes and Tim Steidten make West Ham signings in the summer transfer window?
Various reports have suggested that the Hammers may well be preparing for the summer transfer window under David Moyes and Steidten after it was revealed the West Ham boss had appointed his son as a new scout.
The Irons are also understood to be interested in adding to their wide options, especially on the left wing having pursued a number of attacking targets during the January transfer window, including Ibrahim Osman.

Whether or not Goncalves would be one of the names on the Hammers’ list remains to be seen, but the 25-year-old has been in exceptional form so far this season, scoring nine goals and assisting 10 strikes in 24 league matches.
The Portuguese international struggled in the Premier League previously, barely featuring for Wolves before he left Molineux for Famalicao, but during his time away from England he has gone from strength to strength.
This would be a good deal for the Hammers to get over the line, but they won’t be the only team interested in Goncalves this summer.
