West Ham United could make move for Jota Silva in weeks, summer exit ‘most likely’
West Ham United could make a move for Portuguese attacker Jota Silva in the “next few weeks” amid interest in the Vitoria Guimaraes star, according to ABola.
Writing on their website (21 May), the Portuguese news outlet reports that the winger could be called up to the Portugal squad for Euro 2024 after scoring 15 goals and registering seven assists this season.
Benfica and recently-crowned champions Sporting are also interested in signing the 24-year-old this summer, and while no concrete proposals have been tabled yet moves could be made in the coming weeks with a departure seen as the “most likely” outcome during the transfer window.
West Ham United have a busy summer transfer window ahead
It’s going to be a very busy summer at the London Stadium, with Julen Lopetegui keen to put his stamp on the squad and several people expected to move on too.
Said Benhrama and Pablo Fornals both left in January and the squad was left short in attack, and this summer Michail Antonio is a target for MLS and Saudi clubs while Danny Ings and Maxwel Cornet are expected to be allowed to leave too.
That means attackers will most certainly need to come in to fill the squad and Silva is a top young talent with great numbers to back him up too.

It’s unlikely that he will cost too much considering Vitoria Guimaraes’ finances, and the player is unlikely to expect to walk into the starting lineup either.
That makes it an attractive deal for all parties and if the club can move quickly to bring him in ahead of the competition it would be a good start to the summer.
In other West Ham news, the club have agreed a last-ditch contract extension with one first-team star.
