West Ham United could make four new signings in January transfer news
West Ham United want to sign four new players during the January transfer window, but their budget may restrict their business.
The Hammers signed nine first-team players during the January transfer window but David Moyes’ side have so far lost nine of 15 Premier League games this season.
That has left them just one point above the relegation zone, meaning they want to strengthen again in the winter with the Daily Mail (26 December) reporting that they are targeting deals for players in four positions with loans on the cards.
It’s believed the Irons want a centre-back, full-back, midfielder and striker during the January window, despite having already signed youngster Luizao from Sao Paulo.
“A midfielder and full-back are still wanted as talks over a new deal for Ben Johnson stall, but their budget may restrict them to loans with options.”

While some additions to the squad certainly wouldn’t go amiss this January, there is more than enough already at the club to be doing better than we are.
After finishing in the top seven last season and then strengthening the squad massively, as well as keeping hold of top stars like Declan Rice and Jarrod Bowen, there is no excuse to be as bad as we’ve been so far.
Moyes has struggled to integrate all of those players into the squad so far and hasn’t got the best out of them, so adding more new faces into the equation would surely just make things more difficult.
With that said, if the right player became available the board would be stupid not to act to get a deal done in advance of the summer by securing a loan with an option.
With a tough run of fixtures to come, starting with league leaders Arsenal on Boxing Day, they need to hit the ground running to come out on top on the other side and start pushing towards Europe rather than battling relegation.
