West Ham United contact Chelsea to register interest in Callum Hudson-Odoi
West Ham have registered their interest in signing Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi after he asked to leave the club, according to 90min.
The 21-year-old asked the Blues to allow him to leave the club for regular first-team football this summer after being left out of the opening Premier League fixture against Everton.
Several clubs including Borussia Dortmund, Everton, Newcastle, Leicester, Crystal Palace and Southampton are also interested in a deal and have all made contact with the club about a possible loan deal.

Hudson-Odoi was wanted by Bayern Munich back in 2019 before penning a new long-term contract at Stamford Bridge, but picked up a serious achilles injury a year later.
Now 100% fit though he is hoping to get regular first-team football to earn a place in Ghana’s World Cup squad later this year, and West Ham are keen to bring him in as part of their squad.
Depth
Chelsea seem to have a lot of talent on the fringes of their squad that David Moyes likes, but this is a deal that would make a lot of sense if we’re able to get it over the line.
Last season the club struggled with depth in attacking positions and while they’ve brought in Gianluca Scamacca this summer from Sassuolo, they’re still light in attack.

Nikola Vlasic is set to join Torino on loan with an option to buy, while Said Benrahma has been linked with an exit too after falling out of favour with Moyes. That means wingers are needed.
Hudson-Odoi is young and still developing but he has got great talent and skill, while his experience of playing at the highest level despite being just 21 would be a big benefit to a West Ham side desperate to go up a level themselves.
He is capable of playing on either wing and providing quality competition for the current options, and by being in London he could be tempted by not having to uproot and move too. Surely one to keep an eye on as the window draws to a close.
