West Ham United boss David Moyes hopeful of Filip Kostic deal with new offer ready

West Ham United are set to make an improved offer for Eintracht Frankfurt winger Filip Kostic after seeing their first bid rejected according to The Daily Mail.

According to the newspaper on Thursday 28 July, the Irons saw a £12million plus £3million in add-ons rejected by the Bundesliga club.

Despite their first bid being turned down, Moyes remains “hopeful” of convincing Kostic to make the move to the London Stadium.

Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth revealed (via Twitter) that Kostic would consider a move for West Ham if a deal can be agreed.

Need much convincing?

Does the Bundesliga wing-back really need that much convincing after the Hammers’ recent transfer business?

The ambition shown by the club hierarchy has been commendable and has certainly raised expectations for the upcoming campaign.

Kostic has supposedly turned down two Champions League clubs this summer, which could be a good sign for West Ham.

There is every chance that he views a move to the Premier League as the next step in his career after proving himself to be one of the most effective wide men in Europe last season.

Bringing Kostic to the club to provide service to Gianluca Scamacca and Michail Antonio should add another dimension to West Ham’s attacking play.

The Irons transfer business this summer should indicate to Kostic where the club’s future is heading and he should certainly be open to a move to the Premier League.

The flying Serbian would allow Moyes flexibility in terms of his formations with the 29-year-old a top-class operator in a three-at-the-back system.
