West Ham United: Armando Broja loan exit more likely amid Chelsea £35m asking price

Armando Broja is more likely to leave Chelsea on loan than permanently after West Ham were quoted £35m to sign him, according to talkSPORT.

Writing on their website (25 January), the news outlet report that the Hammers, Wolves and Fulham have all shown an interest in signing the Albania international after Chelsea made him available.

But it currently remains unclear if anyone is willing to pay that and a temporary exit is now considered to be “more likely” before the February 1st deadline.

“The striker is a target for Wolves, West Ham and Fulham this month, but a loan move is seen as more likely that a permanent Chelsea exit,” they wrote.

“Chelsea would consider a sale in the region of £35m, but it remains to be seen whether any suitor would stump up that fee.”

Interesting

There is plenty of interest in Broja but this has been a window where David Moyes has managed to land another long-term target in Kalvin Phillips.

Broja is someone that West Ham wanted to sign before his serious knee injury, but they then moved for Gianluca Scamacca and we know how that worked out.

West Ham

If Broja is available temporarily it could be a shrewd bit of business for the Hammers because Danny Ings is still at the club, Michail Antonio is on his way back from injury and there is no guarantee that the grass is greener with a new signing.

But if he were able to come in and hit the ground running and really help the club push up the table and progress in Europe, then there would be a conversation to have in the summer about a potential permanent deal.

Obviously it’s Chelsea who are in the driving seat for any negotiations, but West Ham aren’t in a desperate position either so this is one to watch for sure over the coming weeks.
