West Ham United and Flamengo to sign documents for Fabricio Bruno transfer in hours

West Ham United and Flamengo will sign the documents to complete the transfer of Fabricio Bruno “in the next hours”, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Writing on his personal Instagram account (28 May), the reliable transfer journalist reports that the clubs have agreed a deal worth £10.2million plus £1.28million in add-ons for the 28-year-old central defender.

The Brazil international is now set to sign for the Hammers and should put pen to paper on a deal later today (Tuesday 28 May) once the clubs have signed all the relevant paperwork.

Tim Steidten is a credit to West Ham United

In recent years the Hammers have become quite known for hesitating in the transfer market when it comes to deals, which saw manager David Moyes given the nickname “Dithering Dave”.

But since Tim Steidten has come into the club that has quickly disappeared and the club are now swift and efficient negotiators whenever they need to be.

Once a target has been decided upon the German gets straight to work and usually a deal can be done quickly, and if it’s dragging out that usually happens behind the scenes rather than in public.

Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse, Mohammed Kudus, Dinos Mavropanos and Kalvin Phillips were all brought in last season with no saga taking place, and now Bruno can join that list too.

It’s a solid deal for a good price and with minimal fuss early in the window. Fans and the club can’t have asked for much more than that at this stage.

In other West Ham news, the club are set to trigger the £17m release clause for a brand new attacker.
