West Ham United agree permanent Luis Guilherme exit – Fee, clause and everything you need to know
West Ham United have agreed their first permanent sale of the January transfer window with Luis Guilherme set to depart.
Guilherme has struggled at the London Stadium since joining from Palmeiras in the summer of 2024, failing to string together a consistent run in the team.
The 19-year-old has featured just three times for the Hammers since the arrival of Nuno Espirito Santo, and is clearly not in the future plans of the Portuguese boss.
Guilherme’s underwhelming spell with West Ham is now about to come to an end, as the East London side have accepted a bid for the winger.
Sporting Lisbon set to sign Luis Guilherme
According to Fabrizio Romano, West Ham have agreed a deal with Sporting Lisbon to sell winger Luis Guilherme.
The East London side will receive £14.8million for the Brazilian, recouping just over half of the £25m they paid for him 18 months ago.
West Ham will also retain a sell-on clause, meaning they will receive a portion of the fee if and when Guilherme leaves Sporting down the line.
The teenager’s arrival at the London Stadium sparked excitement among the Hammers fanbase, but he failed to deliver and never managed to score a single goal for the East London side.
Who will replace Luis Guilherme at West Ham?
With Guilherme all set to depart in the coming days, Nuno will be desperate to bring in a replacement as soon as possible.
West Ham are currently linked with Adama Traore, and have reportedly already agreed personal terms with the Fulham winger.
However, the deal is not yet over the line with the two Premier League clubs still apart on their valuations of the 29-year-old.
Traore played under Nuno while the pair were at Wolves, and the West Ham boss has been pushing to bring in the Spaniard.
Hammers fans will hope that Traore can help fire the East London side to Premier League safety, if he does end up making the move from Craven Cottage.
