West Ham United agree fee to sell Nikola Vlasic with player to be released
West Ham have agreed a deal to let Nikola Vlasic leave the club after Gianluca Scamacca, with Torino’s most recent offer convincing the Hammers to accept terms, according to Corriere Dello Sport.
The Italian newspaper has reported in its print edition [7 August, pg 24] that Vlasic’s move to Turin is very close after the agreement, bringing a long transfer saga to an end, with West Ham set to release the player.
Vlasic recently made his desire to leave East London clear, as he made a public statement [Tuttosport, via the Daily Mail, 2 August] in desperation to join the club he spent last season on loan at, seemingly prompting an agreement to finally be reached.

More incoming funds
The money West Ham has received this summer will soon begin to burn a hole in the club’s pocket, with incoming transfer funds still not being spent after the big-money sales of Declan Rice and Scamacca already this summer.
The club are now set to lose yet another player, making their need for incoming signings all the more urgent – although Vlasic wasn’t expected to be a part of their squad this season.
The Hammers are yet to do a deal in this transfer window, the only Premier League club where this is the case, although they finally appear to be approaching their first incoming signing after they opened negotiations over Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez [Mike Verweij, 5 August].

The club’s search to strengthen their squad continues, with links to a number of players including Manchester United duo Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay, Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke and Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse.
Following the big-money departure of Rice, the Hammers are looking to strengthen in all areas, rather than just focusing on the midfield.
In other West Ham news, the club have been knocked back in their approach to sign a Scamacca replacement.
