West Ham transfers state of play: What deals have been done and what’s needed before window shuts?
West Ham still have plenty of work to do in the transfer window if they want to enjoy a successful season.
The Hammers have been woeful in their first two Premier League games and clearly lack an attacking threat.
This is Graham Potter’s first summer transfer window as West Ham boss and already his job is believed to be under threat.
Below, West Ham Zone rounds up the transfers completed this summer and speculates what deals could be done before the window closes on 1 September.

Who have West Ham bought and sold this summer?
West Ham only scored 46 Premier League goals last season. It seemed clear that they needed reinforcements in attack, but these have yet to arrive.
Of the five new signings recruited by Potter, only one of them could be considered an attacking threat.
That’s Callum Wilson, signed on a free transfer after being released by Newcastle.
The five signings are:
- Jean-Clair Tobido – defender signed from OGC Nice
- El-Hadji Malik Diouf – wing-back signed from Slavia Prague
- Kyle Walker-Peters – defender signed on a free transfer
- Callum Wilson – striker signed on a free transfer
- Mads Hermansen – goalkeeper signed from Leicester
The Hammers have sold Mohammed Kudus to Tottenham for £55million, but several other first-team stars have been allowed to leave the club after their contracts expired
- Mohammed Kudus – sold to Tottenham
- Vladimar Coufal – released
- Aaron Cresswell – released
- Kurt Zouma – released
- Michail Antonio – released
- Danny Ings – released
- Lukasz Fabianski – released
- Edson Alvarez – loaned to Fenerbahce
- Kaelan Casey – loaned to Swansea

What will West Ham do before 1 September transfer deadline?
West Ham have agreed a fee of £17m for Monaco midfielder Soungoutou Magassa. The box-to-box midfielder could be available for selection for West Ham’s next Premier League game against Nottingham Forest.
Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney is another reported target, although the Championship club seem reluctant to sell so late in the window.
There have been also links of Potter bringing Raheem Sterling to East London on a season-long loan. That’s the closest that West Ham have come to being linked with a striker.
Emerson Palmieri is on the verge of signing for Marseille, but it seems unlikely that any other first-team players will be allowed to leave.
