West Ham transfers on cards in January as top spokesperson makes FFP reveal

West Ham United do not have Financial Fair Play wiggle room ahead of the January transfer window, according to Hammers.News.

The outlet reported via their website that a top spokesperson close to the Irons owners has told them that they would need to raise funds through player sales or new investment to strengthen the squad.

Despite that, the Hammers hierarchy, including chairman David Sullivan, are not ruling out the possibility of bringing new faces through the doors at the London Stadium next month.

So, it is not a surprise that West Ham are already up to their FFP maximum.

Nevertheless, the summer splurge has not done the Irons many favours as they are placed 14th in the Premier League, sitting just eight points above the relegation zone.

The team’s struggles have put technical director Tim Steidten under pressure at the London Stadium, with questions asked over some of his signings.

Lopetegui is seemingly keen to add at least a new striker to his ranks in January, meaning Steidten will have to find ways to raise funds.
