West Ham transfer news: Bayern Munich make Declan Rice ‘Top Target’ for summer – Sky Sports
Bayern Munich have made West Ham captain Declan Rice their “top target” for the summer transfer window according to Sky Sports Germany.
Rice is expected to leave the club after the Europa Conference League final, with Arsenal considered to be the frontrunners for his signature in a deal that could be worth up to £120m.
And after the Bundesliga champions made it clear that the door was open for an £85m deal this summer to tempt Rice to leave England, journalist Florian Plettenberg is reporting that no bid has been made yet and the Bayern board are discussing the amount of their opening bid for now.

“Update Rice (Due to many inquiries): There are still no agreements and there’s no offer yet. Bayern bosses preparing the next steps instead,” he wrote.
“Bosses want to fulfill Tuchel‘s wish.
“First of all the new board has to decide what Bayern is willing to offer in the first round.
“Bayern is aware that Arsenal should be willing to pay around £70m. Rice remains the internal top target.”
Odd amounts
The amounts reported by Plettenberg are very odd and very different to what is being reported in England, which means either the reports are being twisted or someone is straight up wrong.
The Mirror reported that Bayern were ready to offer £95m in a total package, but Sky are now saying that nothing has been submitted and they’ll be going in with their opening bid soon.

But also now this report suggests Arsenal will only go as high as £70m, which is absolutely nowhere near what West Ham will be accepting for their best player to leave.
Arsenal and Bayern are clearly the teams in the front of the queue for a transfer but with so many reports saying so many different things, at this point it seems like it’s worth ignoring most of it.
Nothing is going to happen before the Europa Conference League final on Wednesday at the earliest, and even more likely is after the England internationals in a few weeks. Until then, just hold tight.
