West Ham told scenario that’d see Jarrod Bowen force exit next year – ‘He’s gone’

Jarrod Bowen is just 10 goals away from becoming West Ham’s all-time top scorer following his strike against Everton on Monday night.

Graham Potter was supposedly worried about Bowen’s leadership before the former Chelsea boss was sacked and replaced by Nuno Espirito Santo.

The winger shut those claims down as he guided the Hammers to a well-earned 1-1 draw against David Moyes‘ Everton.

West Ham fans were surprised that Bowen didn’t attract interest in the summer transfer window, but the Irons face a battle to keep him should his fine form continue.

Jarrod Bowen to leave West Ham if they get relegated – Jason Cundy

West Ham’s midfield was much improved against Everton, with Soungoutou Magassa and Mateus Fernandes working well alongside each other.

Concerns have been raised defensively, with Konstantinos Mavropanos losing his man for the hosts’ first-half goal.

However, the Hammers finally stepped up in the final third of the pitch, with Bowen scoring his third goal of the season.

Gary Lineker was surprised Bowen didn’t leave West Ham in the summer, and fellow pundit Jason Cundy predicts he will attract interest in future transfer windows.

Speaking on talkSPORT on 30 September, Cundy said: “I said that if he’s going to leave, the last transfer window is the one he should’ve moved.

“[Bowen’s] too good to be fighting in a relegation battle, and he does obviously love West Ham.

“But sometimes you have to think about your own career. If they get relegated, he’s gone.”

Jarrod Bowen could yet leave West Ham at the end of the 2025-26 season

After such a difficult start to the season already for Bowen, it wouldn’t be a surprise to hear that he is contemplating leaving.

Despite his contract running until 2030, an offer from a top Premier League side hasn’t been ruled out, and Hammers fans wouldn’t blame him for leaving.

The 28-year-old has been immense for the London Stadium outfit since joining in 2020.

Given the instability at West Ham, with supporters wanting David Sullivan to step down, it can’t be a good environment to play in.

Off-pitch matters could start to affect performances, and in the prime of his career, Bowen can’t afford for his form to drop off.
