West Ham to find solution for ‘extremely unhappy’ star as Nuno Espirito Santo message revealed
West Ham have plenty of issues to address in the January transfer window.
It has been a woeful start to the season for the E20 outfit, who already find themselves rooted inside the bottom three of the Premier League, inside the first 10 games of the campaign.
Nuno Espirito Santo is already under pressure at West Ham, and the upcoming window will be pivotal to help him overhaul the squad and mould the team into his image.
David Sullivan and Co. will be targeting plenty of incomings at the London Stadium this winter, but there are also members of the current squad who need to be moved on.

Nuno has told Guido Rodriguez he isn’t in his plans
Guido Rodriguez was heavily linked with a West Ham exit in the summer, but a deal to move him out the door ultimately never materialised before the end of the window.
The Argentine has since made just two league appearances for the Hammers this term, with one of those coming in the 3-0 defeat to Sunderland on the opening day of the season.
- Rodriguez joined from Real Betis on a free transfer in the summer of 2024
- he made 23 league appearances for West Ham last season
- He has played a combined 90 minutes of league football all season
It has now emerged that the midfielder is “extremely unhappy” with the gametime that he is receiving in East London, according to Fussball Europa.
It is understood that West Ham placed the 31-year-old on the chopping block “weeks ago,” and he would have left in the summer if they had got things their way.
Rodriguez is out of contract with the Hammers next summer, and it is believed that all parties are currently trying to find “viable alternatives” for him to move away before then.

Nuno has already made it clear to the player’s camp that he isn’t part of his plans, and as a result, there is seemingly no way back for the star.

Guido Rodriguez sealed West Ham fate vs Brentford
Rodriguez came off the bench for West Ham in their defeat to Brentford, and his performance during his cameo role appears to have effectively sealed his fate in Nuno’s eyes.
That 2-0 loss was arguably the Hammers’ worst collective performance of the season, and although Rodriguez was only on the pitch for a brief 19-minute spell, his showing told Nuno everything that he needed to know.
The midfielder had just four touches during his time in the action, and also failed to make a single tackle or win a single duel.
The former Real Betis man looked lethargic and disinterested, which was a pretty damning reflection on somebody who hadn’t even featured in the first 70 minutes of the encounter.
It is telling that since that defeat, Rodriguez has been back out in the cold in E20.
It simply hasn’t worked out for him in English football, and West Ham will be desperate to get him out the door by any means possible in January.
